R.E.M.

I was 11 when i had my first ever album on vinyl which was R.E.M. - Out Of Time,always been a classic album,they've made loads of classic tunes aswel.The new album is out in March i've just found this trailer for the new album



at 1min 03 seconds the song ''Every Day Is Yours To Win'' sounds great,i cant wait for the album,i have about 100 cds of R.E.M. i have a cabinet for them & the beatles & a cabinet for all my oasis cds :-) I'll be buying thsi new album 2 weeks after Beady Eye,should be great next year.

Great band, I cant wait to hear the new album, especially since Q's preview described it as their best since 'Automatic For The People'

Did you watch the trailer above? Im really lookin forward to it.They're my top band to be honest.Oasis ahve gone now & I've been a huge fan since 1991 to now,i've bought every cd they've released,cd albums,cd singles,re issues etc...

I've just heard the 2 full tracks that have become available

"discoverer" is a real rocket blast of a tune it reminds me of one of louder songs from the "document" era, and has that ringing guitar sound of "finest worksong"

"it happened today" is the better song so far though, it has a more mellow "automatic for the people" vibe to it ,love the fact its got Eddie Vedder on backing vocals too

the album should be great if these 2 songs are representative of it

Never really lsiteed to REM, but love the guitar on discoverer. Dont like the vocals though

same with me ^ never listened apart from the big songs but I'm guessing there are better ones in their back catalogue (similar to Oasis and Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger)

I'll give the new album a few listens and if i like it i'll go back throught the back catalogue

hey scruff listen to the intro of discoverer & then listen to the intro of yurn you inside-out,also it's a bit like crush with eyeliner if you listen careful.

I think the vocals are great on discoverer,stipe is 51 next month & to sing as good as he does is amazing imo.It's gonna be ace the album,soooo cant wait.

yeah "turn you inside out" was probably the one I was thinking of, its a sort of looping guitar sound like a siren, lol

yeah,realised i type too quick these days keep fucking up.

Sorry, neither song did much for me. Just sounds like older REM songs.

The new stuff bodes well for the new album.

It's gonna be fuckin ace,cant wait,2 weeks after beady eye,feb & march will be unbeatable for me this yr,unless i get married at some point,lol.
